Saturday Senses

Saturday Senses is a way to capture the spirit of each week.

tasting ::  fig and goat cheese sandwiches from magpie and thai iced tea from temple.

hearing ::  a love-letter mix cd of canadian folk courtesy of alicia from spirit house designs.

smelling ::  sun-dried laundry from the line.

seeing ::   the first published photos of havi’s playground taken by the super talented elizabeth {of postcards from heaven fame}

feeling ::  decidedly down since wednesday afternoon. it’s not just the transition from summer break back to work. it’s related to my month metaphor and i don’t like it. not one bit.

also not to like one bit? i have, at the least sprained my calf muscle, at most torn it. i find out the extent of the damage monday morning. until then, i’m in bed resting.

wishing/hoping ::  for ease and patience with the transition back to work in the upcoming weeks and for the least amount of damage to my body.

What are your senses this Saturday?  Looking back, how was your week?

Leave me a comment to tell me made your week memorable.

  1. Hey Tami,

Sorry you are feeling in a funk. It is never fun to surrender your life back to working after some fun filled time away. Just remember that you always have your summers and another one is just about 9 months away…start planning to give you something to look forward to. Keep your eyes on the prize and know that Xmas break is soon too. Those of us who are not teachers do not get to know we have these set breaks but we can take our vacations anytime we want but NEVER 3 months at a time….sounds divine.

So sorry to hear you are injured. I hated it when that hip flexor of mine screamed at me all day. Thanks god it’s better now.

I had a weird week. I’m writing someone up for the first time ever at work and it totally blows. I have some serious senses on the topic that all point to discomfort. Wish me luck as the week proceeds and things start getting even worse….but hopefully not unmanageable. Mostly, I do feel bad for the person at work who is in trouble. I wish she had just worked with me more and it’s hard to see our good working relationship trashed so easily.

However, one sense to share with you, almost all summer I start my weekend days off in a bikini and go out and soak up the sun while reading. It’s so great to feel the hot sun on your skin and get a little golden tan. Also wonderful to not just “jump up” and do stuff but to continue to rest.

Hugs and hopes to see you soon. Stay strong!

    • @kelley: first things first, thanks for reading and leaving a comment.

funk is, i think, mostly hormones. and a post vacation hangover. and yes, i’ll start planning.

injury is healing already. i’m so happy my muscle is still attached to the bone! it could have been so much grosser and painful. whew!

my heart is going out to you about your work troubles. ugh. supervising people is such hard work. i’m glad you are still able to have empathy for the person. that’s some serious meta practice sista. keep taking care of yourself and not taking it personally – way easier said than done, i know.

your weekend days sound absolutely divine! you know how i love me some swimming pools and rest.

big xo to you my lovely, lovely friend.
