Saturday Senses

tasting :: marinara sauce with sautéed zucchini and ground turkey over spaghetti squash.

hearing :: “teacher, when i grow up i’m going to be a scientist” – {so happy i got those science books out this week}

smelling :: sweet relief. in case you haven’t heard, it’s spring break!

seeing :: a huge stack of unread books i’ve been saving for vacay.

feeling :: exhausted, but thankful for 9 glorious days of rest.

wishing/hoping :: i’d like some seriously restful sleep. send some my way if you have extra, k? thanks!

  1. seeing: my daughter playing iSpy with my mom
    tasting: buttery rice, hot coffee and microbrew beer
    hearing: my dad pretend to lose chess to my son
    feeling: tired but happy

    wishing/hoping: i had a way to do yoga every day but loving my life as it is

  2. Do you sometimes have trouble with the restful sleep part? I’d like to give a shout out to natural sleep aids containing l-tryptophan and melatonin, they are kind of changing the quality of life in my household.

    That spaghetti squash dish sounds amazing.

    • @mads: thanks for the sleep aid idea. we’ve got them in the house which (for me anyway) helps me sleep better.

      i’m a huge fan of the spaghetti squash dish. so filling, comforting and delicious. plus i feel downright virtuous when i eat it – all those vegetables in one bowl!
