Saturday Senses

A way to capture the spirit of each week…

tasting :: still so many homemade dinners courtesy of our wonderful friends. chicken noodle soup to die for from christine from stinky buddha and her family, sausage lentil soup from ryan from deephomework and his family and chili with quinoa from sarah. this meal train service and our friends are amazing.

hearing ::  the baby pointing at me and saying mama.

smelling :: grass and woodchips – ruby took her first trip to the park. the swings were a hit!

seeing :: ruby becoming more at home with us. she is playing independently longer between each cuddle.

feeling ::  loved. especially when she rests her little body on me during nap time and gently pats my face.

wishing/hoping :: for more moments of quiet for writing and reading.

What about you?

What are your senses this Saturday?

Looking back, how was your week?

Leave a comment and tell me all about it. I’d seriously love to hear about your week. Now’s not the time to be shy.

  1. tasting: pressure cooker madness! beans, stews, brown rice, kinda paella. i’m going crazy with this thing.
hearing: gus is getting way way more into pretend play. at this very moment, i’m hearing his alien voice.
smelling: cocoa in coffee. todd and my new favorite morning ritual.
seeing: lucy in a red wig. warming up to rock the little mermaid for halloween.
feeling: gratitude. i’ve been practicing making gratitude lists throughout the day in my head with the alphabet (grateful for Air, grateful for Beds, etc.)
wishing/hoping: as always, to live thoroughly in each moment, even the moments that are “lousy” or “boring.”

p.s. really you keep making me cry with the ruby mama stuff. enough already ;)

  2. I love that our babies are almost the same age. I know exactly what you’re talking about with the face patting. Gabriel pats my face in the early morning (and I mean early!).
