Saturday Senses

A way to capture the spirit of each week…

swing

tasting ::   green smoothies, homemade terriaki chicken with stir fried vegetables, vegetarian burrito bowls, pasta with vegan creamy garlic sauce and roasted broccoli, tuna pita with barbeque chips, toasted bagel with creamy goat cheese topped with apple and honey, overnight mango coconut oatmeal. what a huge difference meal planning made this week!

hearing:     crespi critters and their off spring catch up, the good life project podcast each morning.

smelling ::  movie popcorn (and resisting!)

seeing ::   a movie in the middle of the afternoon.

feeling ::   accomplished. september’s session of the healthy, happy, sane teacher has started. it all started as a tiny idea (not that long ago!) and now it is a reality. the need to be really quiet – spending a lot of time reading novels instead of hanging out online this week.

wishing/hoping ::  to keep scheduling in the fun parts of life now that we’re back into the schedule of the school year.

    • Bekah: It was good. But not nearly as good as I’d heard. I hate when that happens. Plus the kid in it looks 89.% EXACTLY like my friend’s ex-husband, so I was totally distracted by that the whole time. Next time, I’m seeing the new Woody Allen.

Have you seen it? If so, what did you think?

  1. Love that reading instead of being online part and I need to try that. I’m into a very fun book right now so maybe that will help (and I’m only into that because the kid is required to do silent reading for 15 minutes each day so when she does hers, I do mine [usually, unless I’m playing Scramble or texting which is bad but I’m being honest]). And the green smoothies. Gotta get in on that. Sam was inspired after our play date when she saw you drinking yours and now she’s got this great system where she purees the spinach with some water and freezes it in ice cube trays and some other stuff and it’s genius and yes. Need to do it. And maybe I’ll rip you off as I have so many times and do a Saturday Senses blog post today. And seeing you and the other Critters last week was total awesomesauce. I can’t wait for the next time. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

    • Jenn: Reading with the kid during her silent reading is such great modeling. Well reading any time really. Kids just do what we do. Like it or not.

I’m going to post my green smoothie “recipe” this month, so hopefully that’ll further nudge you to try it. I’m so happy to hear Sam has drunk the green kool aid! Give her a high five for me.

I’m also looking forward to the next gathering. I wish we all had the same non weekend day off.
