Saturday Senses is a way to capture the spirit of each week.
tasting :: oregon chai
hearing :: you are second in line in our adoption wait {still processing this bit of news}
smelling :: vata calming essential oil in the hot bath
seeing :: lots of lovely comments for alicia {you can still leave one and be entered to win}
feeling :: grateful for the good sense to listen more during parent teacher conferences.
wishing/hoping :: my cold goes away soon.
What about you?
What are your senses this Saturday?
Looking back, how was your week?
This weekly tradition inspired by Pink of Perfection’s Five Sense Friday.

Smelling – Baking mud/clay from the Earth Oven. It’s not the most pleasant of smells. Kind of volcanic.
Hearing – The cockatiel who has been neglected lately. :( If I turn on the Nutcracker he’ll be happy…
Feeling – Like I need to be told it’s okay to not do anything. AND that I am proud of my kid for doing all his homework in Algebra and trying his best even if it means he has 100% of his work in, but only a 79% in the class.
Hoping – My family gets along at Thanksgiving!
@johanna: thank you for playing along. i LOVE hearing how your week went.
i can’t wait to see this earth oven. so intrigued.
did you know our cockatiel is turning 31 next month? yep, 31. seriously, just turn on the music for him.
it is MORE THAN OK to not do ANYTHING. if there is anything i’m trying to advocate here it being ok with taking care of yourself. and sometimes that means doing absolutely NOTHING and being more than ok with it. if you need someone’s permission for this, you 100% have mine.
big high five (or whatever thing those middle school kids do) to sk! i wish i would have his stick-to-it-ness when it came to things that weren’t easy for me. dude, i was going for a gold metal in quitting until i was more than 30. srsly, so happy for him. and you.
hoping for an expectation/disappointment/argument-free holiday meal.
ps – i highly recommend coming to it’s all yoga’s workshop on holiday stress. so completely brilliant it will change your life. 12.11.10.
At the adoption news Guy whooped and Margaret asked, “Why? What’s going on?” Usually I dread those kind of “little pitchers have big ears” questions but not today. XXOOXXOO
@johanna: we’re thrilled. no matter how you slice “second in line” it’s good news.
ps: i LOVE little pitcher have big ears. i’ve never heard it, yet i knew exactly some little pitchers i would say it about.
I got the chills, too! Holy cow!
@amy: indeed. chills and cows, oh my!
Second in line? I just got wicked chills. Hugs.
@mads: me too. craziness, huh?
