A way to capture the spirit of each week…

{via}

tasting :: farmer’s market nectarines and blackberries in vanilla coconut milk

hearing ::  you got first decree!

smelling :: moroccan oil

seeing :: a whole lot of house projects that suddenly need to be finished.

feeling ::  overjoyed. overwhelmed. loved.

wishing/hoping ::  to keep {find} my sense of humor in all the changes coming in the next few weeks. just hug me if you see me crying all of a sudden.

What about you?

What are your senses this Saturday?

Looking back, how was your week?

Leave a comment and tell me all about it. I’d seriously love to hear about your week. Now’s not the time to be shy.

  1. Tasting: easy homemade salsa with tomatoes, green bell pepper, celery, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, sea salt, and mild hot peppers. YUM. Celery really works, and I’m always trying to figure out how to get rid of that half of the stalk that I don’t use and is turning to rubber pencil trick status in the crisper drawer.

    Smelling: compost. Virginia is hot in July.

    Hearing: Early folky blues music. I painted until 1 am last night, and discovered that old timey blues is excellent painting music. My body was swaying to the beat, my paintbrush and roller too.

    Seeing: Taos Clay, a shade of True Value red brown paint. Just painted my home office and it looks wonderful, like I’m sitting in the middle of a dark red clay pot. Bold colors feed a deep yearning. I like that discovery.

    Wishing hoping: smooth sailing for Tami and Jed!
    Feeling: Relief, gratitude, uncertainty, love.

    • @tess:
      taste: celery in salsa is such a great idea.
      smell: compost isn’t the worst smell in the world…. if it’s the soil-y smell versus the rotting food part. yes, i remember virginia being hot and wet. humidity is not my friend.
      hear: folky blues – yay
      see: i’m not crazy about painting, but i love having painted.
      wish/hope: thank you, friend.

  2. Tasting: the banana bread I made late last night

    Smelling: coffee—I’m so tired this week for some reason.

    Seeing: Andrew on my couch! After 8 weeks gone!

    Hearing: Harry Potter movies (we’re watching them all over again)

    Feeling: Inspired after training, nervous about my school year ahead (new year jitters!)

    Wishing/hoping: summer could last a few weeks longer—two weeks left feels a little short.

    • @amy:
      tasting: homemade baked goods rule.
      smelling: coffee (tasting = yuck! more for you)
      seeing: boyfriends coming home is so, so good.
      hearing: i’ve been convinced to try hp #1 – it has been missed by me.
      feeling: new school jitters – dude, me too.
      wishing/hoping: seriously.
