Song notes:
1. I remember hearing this song for the very first time – on the radio with my mom. We were driving over the Carquinez Bridge and I loved it from the start.
2. I bought the album within the week and played it relentlessly for years after. I listened to this weekend – in all its vinyl glory.
3. A girl from my high school performed an exact replica of this video complete with lip syncing and spot on costume for a talent show. It was mesmerizing.

I love your casual, smart, creative, cute blog! I’m a big Madonna Fan from way back. Love that you do song of the day. I may have to start a “Personal Theme Song of the Week”that features my 30 Goals focus for Goal 8: http://www.facebook.com/30Goals#!/notes/the-30-goals-challenge/goal-8-whats-your-personal-theme-song/149921641717848. I just joined a Rock Band made up of all educators! Started singing classical pieces when I was 5! Have been singing professionally and in school for over 20 years. Trained for the MET in NY, won the contest at 18 and didn’t go out…oh well. Had not been able to have time to perform, as my work as a school principal, along with raising 2 boys, did not afford me much time for hobbies. Now as they are grown and I’m a Edu Consultant, I can carve out a little more time to enjoy life. All the best to you…Great stuff here. :)

omg, I would love that. Sadly, all my records were damaged in a flood back in high school, but I know you have a ton of oldies, many of vinyl. :-)
@jenna: it is crazy that i still have all these records. it is not like i ever intended to keep all my wham albums, it just happened. i’m glad it did though because when i listen to them, it makes me so happy. and feel a bit crazy because i remember so many of the words to the songs. wham rap, anyone?
Hi Tami,
I left a comment on here yesterday but I must have messed up something because it’s not here. Anyway, in short, thanks for the trip down memory lane with this song. :-)
@jenna:
i clicked a wrong button, so it was me, not you.
i’m glad you enjoyed it. we’ve got to have a record party at some point.
Ha ha ha. Thanks for the memories. I love those retro moments. We will have to reminisce about DD someday (but Madonna is a close nostalgic second).
