Oh, I forgot to tell you the best part of the retreat!
In addition to all the yoga, breathing, meditating and pool-sitting –
we are breaking up with the Internets!
Does that strike fear in your heart like mine? ***
No blogs
No Twitter {what if there is breaking Rhett Miller news?!?!}
No Facebook
No email
No news or even weather.
To ensure I don’t cheat, I’m not even bringing my computer and I do not possess one of those new fangled phones.
I know I need a break and that I’ll feel refreshed and new when I return, but… I’m scared.
If you haven’t figured this out already, I spend a lot of time online.
I know I can do this.
Are you still in?
Have you ever broken up with the Internets? What was your experience?
Let me a comment to tell me I’m not alone in my online “problem” – please.
***{Don’t worry, it’s just for the weekend and then we are totally getting back together!}

I always say I’m going to take a break, but something always pulls me back. I seriously think I would get a heavy-duty case of the DTs.
I know. Pathetic, right?
I’m heading to the shore with my sisters next week. I know I’ll cave and try to catch up at some point in the day. Because, you know, there just MIGHT be some breaking Rhett Miller news!! HaHa! I think the split will occur only when I leave the American shores.
I. Am. Weak.
Good luck, Tami! Have a great time. Don’t worry. We’ll keep the internets warm for you.
@marie: it was strangely not as hard as i imagined. leaving all my devices at home made sense. i can’t imagine have the magical phone and not checking stuff – because there may really be breaking rhett miller news. although other people did bring theirs. i felt like it was asking a person 1 day into the sober life if they wanted to hang out in a bar. i declined to sit next to the machine!
thanks for all the support! know that i’m here for you if you decide to give it a try.
Have fun Tams! I’m sure it’s going to be fabulous. Breaking up with the internet is hrrrrd, but so good.
Can’t wait to see the photos, I’ll be thinking about you all! Happy Retreat!!
Love,
Erin

i’ve got to look through my retreat photos. i have no idea what i have pix of. i’ll share what i’ve got.
love/miss you!
